Selective. Considered. Free.

Experienced practitioners. Cast for task. Choosing to work together. Meet the people behind the partnership.

The free-folk are what make free.studio different. Not a roster of available freelancers — a curated partnership of people who've done meaningful work, care deeply about craft, and choose to work this way because it produces better work and better lives.

In short: they're good eggs. And that's not nothing.

How we roll.

There are certain traits that have made free.studio an interesting proposition for so many, so quickly. Some guiding principles to operate by, so we can all roll as we see fit — as individuals, and together.

01

We care about craft above all.

The free-folk are practitioners who've done real work at a high level and want to keep doing it. Every person in the partnership is someone you'd genuinely want on your best work.

02

We choose our work.

No one is assigned to a project they don't want. The partnership model means people opt in to the work they're genuinely excited about — and that shows in the output.

03

We are honest about what we can and can't do.

We don't pretend to be a full-service agency. We know what we're brilliant at, and we're transparent about where we'd recommend someone else.

04

We protect the work.

Great work is fragile. We don't let it get watered down by process, politics, or timidity. We fight for the idea — respectfully, but firmly.

05

We are generous with each other.

Lifters, not shifters. The partnership only works if people genuinely support each other. We share contacts, share knowledge, and celebrate each other's wins without keeping score.

06

We don't do politics.

No internal competition. No credit-grabbing. No managing up. Role never supplants respect. The energy agencies waste on internal dynamics gets redirected entirely into the work.

07

We are instinctively and intentionally inclusive.

Open and inviting. Interesting because we're interested. We bring different perspectives in — because better work comes from broader rooms.

08

We are free — and we take that seriously.

Freedom is the point. Freedom to choose, to create, to live well. We don't romanticise hustle. We believe the best work comes from people who have collected experiences, and don't intend to ever stop collecting them.
